The Villa is fully furnished with period furniture and paintings and is surrounded by a 9 hectare botanical park. The name derives from the last family that bought the property, Carolina von Grabau. The base of the building seen today was built in the 16th century over the ruins of another mansion dating from the early 15th century. The park is divided into several architectural gardens and hosts centenary trees as well as some arboreal rarities. While exploring the park, you will come across the "Limonaia", an impressive and majestic 17th century lemon greenhouse and the "Teatro di Verzura", located in a garden bordered by thick hedges that create an intimate and romantic atmosphere.

La Villa fu costruita dalla famiglia Diodati tra la fine del ‘400 e l’inizio del ‘500; passò poi ai Cittadella che ne eseguirono il restauro di meta’ ‘800 trasformando l’aspetto della costruzione da rinascimentale a neoclassico; nel 1868 fu acquisita dai Grabau, di origini tedesche, che ancora oggi ne sono proprietari. Nelle sale si ammirano affreschi neoclassici, arredi d’epoca,ed una cappellina che conserva gli affreschi originali del ‘600/’700. La vista sul parco dalle sale interne e’ resa affascinante dal sapiente gioco di prospettive e simmetrie. Nel parco troviamo la limonaia del 1640, una splendida e imponente costruzione perfettamente conservata che accoglie ogni inverno le piante di limoni che li’ dimorano fino a primavera; il Teatrino di Verzura che puo’ ospitare cerimonie nuziali; il grande giardino all’inglese dell’800 con piante provenienti da tutto il mondo e rarita’, quali il quercus audleyensis e la michelia figo; il giardino all’italiana che accoglie una bella collezione di limoni in vasi antichi
