The Viet Museum otherwise known as the Museum of the Boar People and the Republic of Vietnam is a museum that looks at the history of the Vietnamese Americans. The museum pays particular attention to their journey from Vietnam to the United States. The museum is non profit and has three permanent exhibitions. The first is 1950-1975 and looks at the war in the name of freedom, the second is 1975-1996 and looks at their quest for freedom and finally there is a section that takes a look at Vietnamese Americans today.

The Viet Museum (Vietnamese: Viện Bảo Tàng Việt Nam) or Museum of the Boat People & the Republic of Vietnam is a museum focusing on the experience of Vietnamese Americans and their journey from Vietnam to the United States. It is located in Greenwalt House at History Park at Kelley Park in San Jose, California, United States, and was opened on August 25, 2007.[citation needed]photo The museum was created by the San Jose-based nonprofit organization IRCC (Immigrant Resettlement & Cultural Center, Inc.), headed by Vũ Văn Lộc, a former colonel in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam.
