This monument was builded on the place from where since the beginning of the last century all distances from Bucharest to other towns were measured. At the edge of the monument many names of cities in the Romania of 1913 are written in the respective direction. It took over 60 years to finalize the monument started in 1937 and inaugurated only in 1998.
