Rebecca T. Ruark was built in 1886 in Taylor's Island Maryland.She is the oldest skipjack on the bay. And has been workingthe chesapeake bay bringing oysters to market ever season since.Captain Wade H. Murphy bought her in 1986 and spent that summer completely rebuilding her.That is also the same year that the Bays oyster population was devastated by a disease that almost wiped out the oyster business in MD.In 1995 Captain Wade decided to start taking tours on Rebecca.To show his love for the bay and dredging oyster. We look forward to sailing with you when your in Tilghman Island.We can take up to 49 passengers on her spacious decks.Perfect for bus groups or Family reunions.
