It was ideal for us. The house is comfortable. The beds are firm, for us, leading to a good night's sleep. The location on the water is everything and more than the pictures on the web site. We are already planning our return for next year.

Could not have dreamed of a more peaceful location for our family vacation. The property and views are incredible! The home is beautiful, well stocked, and with comfortable furniture. We explored many local trails and restaurants, average drive was about 20 min. Easy to access Acadia for a day trip. So much to see and do! Mark was a very pleasant host. Would definitely return!

We had an awesome week at Bay Leaf. The cottage is well equipped, very comfortable & Mark has provided everything you will need. Brooklin is a charming town. The Brooklin General Store is close & has friendly, helpful owners. The Wooden Boat School is about 5 miles away - beautiful facilities & a great store. Deer Isle, Stonington, Sedgwick, Blue Hill, tinderhearth breads, EB White’s home where he wrote Charlotte’s Web & Stuart Little - all are close by. There are just many charming things to do & places to see … or not.

Because, mostly we sat on the back deck or at the top of the stairs going down to the shore, & looked out at one of the loveliest water views ever. We’d watch the tide come in/out, osprey catching fish, kingfishers darting through trees, loons, gulls, sandpipers, bright blue dragonflies, hummingbirds, warblers. And the sunrises were astonishingly beautiful - especially from the king bedroom. We highly recommend visiting Bay Leaf and we look forward to returning!

Our first time at Bayleaf was just great. Enjoyed the spectacular view with stunning sunrises and beautiful moonlight over the bay. We watched the bird life as the tides gently changed, and saw turkeys and deer on our walks down the over 1/2 mile long private driveway. Very convenient to town and the general store, library, and a few shops. Bayleaf is a great place to relax and recharge your soul. We are returning next year.
