It is the best place in Paris to take the sun and picnic ! Lot of activities, restaurant, you can even do aviron (kind of boat). It' is one of the "ParisBeach" place during the summer.

This canal (an extension of the Canal Saint-Martin) is very lively in the summer -- the famous Paris Plages urban beach includes this section of the canal, with sand, deck chairs and outdoor bars. Young people play petanque on the banks of the canal on summer evenings, and there are many bars and cafes along the canal. You can also rent motor boats for jaunts up and down the canal (you can bring a picnic and wine on the boat). Vive la France!
