Be sure to checkout Grimsby Beach and enjoy the unique and historic homes in this neighbourhood. If you have a pet, take them along for a walk and enjoy the waterfront and parks nearby. There is also a leash free park nearby if you want to take full advantage of you drive down.

The Grimsby beach community was started in the 1850’s and, as the 'camp' became more permanent, cottages were built. Those cottages, known locally now as 'The Painted Ladies', and more generally as Victorian Gingerbread houses, are now year-round houses that are ornately decorated, colourfully painted (think vibrant blues, pinks and yellows) and meticulously maintained.

"The Painted Ladies" Victorian style painted houses similar to Chautauqua NY homes. Originally a Methodist camp community with tents on cottage size lots. A smaller than original reproduction of the circular temple first located on Auditorium Circle, is now located on Grand Avenue behind the Grimsby Beach Hall and beside Grand Avenue School.
