新店「碧潭吊橋」東岸之「新店路」，根據歷史記載，新店老街創始於 「道光年間」，早年是「烏來」、「木柵」、「安坑」、「景美」一帶農作物及日用品之集散地，昔年因為有河運、輕便路及吊橋之便捷交通，故鼎盛繁華。新店老街，商店林立，從前有葯鋪、青草店、餅鋪等商號，從出生到老死的生活必需品，這兒都買得到。
