The perfect morning hike (or run for the energetic) is up to Black Rock for the views then back to Wirksworth for lunch. The rocks and woods will occupy children for hours.

This is a lovely walk straight from the door, if you are ok with a steep climb in parts.

A short walk from the car park up to Black Rocks trig point gives an amazing view of Derbyshire Dales. The cafe is run by the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and has great coffee and homemade cake. You can also get onto the High Peak trail from here.
