Prince Shotoku's Okamoto no miya shrine was changed to a temple by his son, Prince Yamashiro, by his will. The three-storied pagoda, built in 706, is the oldest existing triple tower in Japan. In 1993, it was registered as a World Heritage site with Horyuji Temple. 聖徳太子の岡本宮を、遺言により息子・ 山背大兄王が寺に改めたことに始ま る。慶雲3年（706）建立の三重塔は、日 本に現存する最古の三重塔。1993 年、法隆寺とともに世界遺産に登録。 拝観料金/ Admission Fee 300 yen 営業時間/ Opening hours 8:30～17（11月 4日～2月21日は～16:30）
