The Mausoleum of Galla Placidia was built between 425 and 450 by Galla Placidia, daughter of Theodosius. It is a small "casket" shaped like a Latin cross that contains the most ancient mosaics of Ravenna: the starry sky, the drinking doves, the Good Shepherd.
