The Monastery of the Holy Spirit, officially the Monastery of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit, is a Trappist monastery located near Conyers, Georgia. Currently the Monastery of the Holy Spirit is a community of forty-eight monks spanning several generations, who live, work and pray at the Abbey

Beautiful and historical monastery is worth a half day visit. Watch the historic film about the Trappist monks and walk through the barn and beautiful grounds. Linger in the bonzi garden with hundred year old trees. Walk through the concrete church with lovely stained glass windows. Finish in the well stocked garden and gift shop.

In 1944, twenty one Trappist monks left Gethsemani Abbey in Kentucky and embarked on a journey similar to those originating in early Christianity. The trip led them to the wilderness of rural Georgia where they founded the Monastery of the Holy Spirit located here in Conyers, GA.
