There are tons of restaurants, bars and shops all along Haywood. This neighborhood has a hip vibe.

Of all of the walkable neighborhoods, West Asheville has perhaps the most robust and distinctive mini-downtown area of its own. Haywood Road is a revitalized thoroughfare lined with pubs, restaurants, and boutiques. Bike corrals and pedestrian crossings encourage green forms of transportation. Architectural styles range from smaller historic bungalows to mid-century ranchers to newer green homes. There are several parks, a public library, bookstore, yoga studio, and more to walk to!

West Asheville has a bunch of fun breweries. We like Archetype and One World West (they often have great live music), but there are others. Drive along Haywood Road and stop when you are inspired! The Whale is a fun place to hang out, eat and have a beer. But they do not specialize in local brews, so even though we like it here, we typically choose other places.
