The market comprised of two sections: The South Block on Queen's Road Central was built in the 1850s but had already been demolished more than twenty years, while the North Block (the one you are about to visit) was built in 1906 and is a declared historical monument, so Hong Kong's real estate sharks can't tear it apart. The market is open daily, from 10am to 7pm, and other than traditional Chinese shops that sell everything, from souvenirs and cheap fakes to jade stones and handcrafts, it boasts a nice restaurant on the 3rd floor (Treasure Inn) and some good fabric shops.
