제주하면 여성문화, 그 중에서도 해녀(잠녀)를 빼 놓을 수 없죠. 제주에 가장 잘 어울리는 박물관이 아닐까 싶어요. 1층에서 상영해주는 영상은 여러 언어로 서비스 되고 있어 외국인과 함께 가도 좋은 것 같아요. 제주에 ‘소로 태어나지 못 하면 제주 여자로 태어난다.’는 속담이 있는데, 척박했던 만큼 강인한 제주의 여성문화 느껴볼 수 있어요.
