Casone di Profecchia in the municipality of Castiglione di Garfagnana is a small ski area surrounded by views that touch the peaks of the Apuan Alps and the Apennines. The management of the systems is the same as the hotel restaurant located a few meters away, the Casone, whose building was built in 1845, at the behest of Francesco IV, Duke of Modena and Reggio, and in the past it was an ancient post office for the change of horses. The cross-country skiing itineraries for about 30 km from Casone di Profecchia reach Passo delle Radici and from here always skis on Piandelagotti in the Emilia area.
