Lovely forest walk with views. National Trust car park. This area has been inhabited since the bronze age - with escarpment , caves and mines. Also rumoured to be the home of King Arthur and his sleeping Knights. Featured in the books by Alan Garner - the weird stone of Brisingamen. Pub/cafe next door - also the village of Alderley at the bottom of the hill with lots of very good restaurants.

The edge in Alderley Edge is a dramatic sandstone ridge with impressive views over the Cheshire countryside towards Manchester and the hills of the Peak District. A perfect place to walk the dogs or take a romantic walk. There is the Wizard tea room which is open 7 days, 9am - 5pm and offers breakfast meals, fresh coffee and a full selection of delicious cakes and other bakes. The edge is between a 15-20 minute drive from the cottage.

Alderley Edge Forest is full of amazing trails overlooking the Peak District and Manchester in the distance. The magical myths, numerous caves and waterfalls formed the basis of the famous book ‘Weirdstone of Brasingamens’ by Alan Garner.
