Wunderlich is reachable through the Skyline Trail, after about 7 miles. This is my route when I want a nice long hike, but don't want all the elevation changes.

Close by - up Sand Hill to Woodside. Lovely hike past stables to a meadow at top. Couple of hours under redwoods, so shaded.
