The King Doniert was built by J D Wetherspoon on a site which previously housed a garage and was opened in June 2018. It was named after King Doniert, who was described as ‘the last-known independent king of Cornwall.’ The King drowned in around AD875, his death was marked by the historic monument known as the Doniert Stone, three miles to the north of Liskeard. The pub is cheap and cheerful!
