This is a wonderful beach on the Columbia river that gets the fresh mountain water coming down from the mountains to the east! It fills up fast so you have to go early to get a parking spot on summer days. It's about a 15 minute drive from the guest house.

small parking fee, worth it. Great base camp for running, cycling, walking along the Columbia River.

This is a sandy beach on the Columbia river with a beautiful bikepath, nice views over to Washington, and good swimming

This park costs $5 to park for the day or you can buy a pass for longer visits. Their restrooms have been closed with Covid but there has been a porta-potty there most of the time. I spend about 10 mins collecting debris, helps me feel better about letting the kids roam around. It is dog friendly so if you're not cool with dogs it may not be your cup of tea. Water can move quickly so definitely need life jackets for kids or timid swimmers.
