Llandeilo is a gem. An ancient capital of Wales, the town has the largest single arch stone bridge in Wales which is fringed by pretty pastel painted houses that sweep up to the town centre. There's an array of small independent shops.Shopping in Llandeilo is an absolute pleasure!

Llandeilo is around a 40 minute drive from Brecon. The lovely country drive will take you into Carmarthenshire and Wales proper. You'll hear Welsh spoken on the streets of Llandeilo (which is very rare in Brecon) and the town feels very Welsh so it's a great place to absorb the culture. There are lots of very lovely independent shops and a fantastic deli and butchers. The nearby National Trust property of Dinefwr is well worth a visit too.
