Gebbies Pass up to Sign of the Packhorse is a great day walk. Two hours one way. This hut is in a low open saddle on the ridge between Mt Bradley and the Remarkable Dykes. It can be seen against the skyline from many parts of the reserve and the Lyttelton Harbour basin. From the hut there are sweeping views of the entire Lyttelton Harbour basin, including Lyttelton Harbour and the Port Hills opposite.

If you love a good hearty 2 hour hike this is a great one. Accessed from either Kaituna Valley or Gebbies pass. At the top you will see views of Lyttleton harbour and also views of Kaituna valley on the other side. The Kaituna access will get the heart pumping with the steep incline. Gebbies pass is much easier but still a great hike.

Ranging from 2 hour walks up to 5 hour walks, this track caters for everyone. Its definitely worth the hike up to the hut, take it from me.
