Most of this ride has an 8mph max posted on the trails, so it's slow and relaxed! Enjoy the breeze and soak up the sun (or, put on tons of sunscreen and wear spf clothing, like me). The loop around the bay actually consists of 3 bike trails that connect, which makes about 12 miles total. Paul and I like to park our car at the Southshore Boat launch parking lot (near Seaworld) and head either over past Fiesta Island or the other way, which crosses the street to old seaworld drive. This ride circles the whole of Mission Bay.

The Mission Bay Bike Path is a paved trail that loops almost completely around San Diego's Mission Bay. The trail runs through Mission Bay Park, which includes and encircles the large man-made body of water. Bathrooms, drinking fountains, parking, playgrounds and picnic tables can be found throughout the park. Popular with tourists, the path also provides access to several other parks, two wildlife preserves and SeaWorld San Diego. From Sea World Drive, pick up the San Diego River Trail to head east or west along the waterway. Alternatively, pass through Mission Beach to reach the Mission Beach-Pacific Beach Boardwalk, which extends along the Pacific coast.
