You have plenty of reasons to live the Fallas. From March 1 to 19, Valencia throws itself into the Fallas celebration, a party that combines tradition, satire and art and that You should miss out for the world. The The origin of the Faults is found in a ancient custom of carpenters who, celebrating the arrival of spring, the night of the 19th they burned in front of their workshops the pieces of wood (parots) that they used to raise the lamps that illuminated them during the winter. Little by little, they were adding to this fire purifying old junk and rags, which they humanized the parots until they became ninots. The humor of the Valencians soon gave those ninots the critical and ironic sense that they currently hold. Today, faults have evolved to become in ephemeral works of art that, in some cases, they have millionaire budgets."🔥🧨🎎

How to describe Fallas? Sheer madness combined with absolute beauty. Fallas is held from 1st to 19th March. Skilled artisans spend all year designing and making huge statues (ninots) which are displayed throughout the streets in Valencia and then burnt down during the crema on the final night! The Valencianos love a firecracker and during Fallas they indulge this love with the mascletàs. A mascletà is a pyrotechnic event characterized by the achievement of a noisy and rhythmic composition that features, particularly during daytime, in street festivities; it is typical of the Valencian Community. It gets its name from the masclets that are tied by a wick to form a line or firework display. You have to experience it to understand! During Fallas is is a great time to experience Valencian culture through street food, music, dance and costumes and a real must is to watch La Oferenda where Falleros and Falleras in traditional costume parade through the streets to the the Plaza de la Virgen make offerings of flowers to the Virgin. These flowers are used to make a 14m high statue of the Virgin and is a spectacular and highly emotional event that should not be missed.
