Beach and river all in one area. I would only recommend swimming here if your experienced with strong currents, this spot has claimed lives (one was a close friend) The hike is great through the trees and around the river. The walk along the beach is lovely too. Be careful in you go to the point, if it is a stormy day, do not stand down by the rocks, lives have been taken from here too. Once again I know from personal experience. Treat this place with a lot of respect. The place is beautiful but hazardous.

This trail stretches along the Greenough River and is great for walking and mountain biking. There is a 17km circular track taking you down one side of the river then crossing over at Old Ford Crossing to go back along the other side.

This scenic river meanders 250km through the countryside to meet the ocean at Cape Burney. Greenough River Walk Trail Signage Cape Burney is located 10km south of Geraldton, on the ocean and that is where the Greenough River meets the Indian Ocean. The river is a haven for an amazing range of birds, from the elegant egrets and herons to the majestic osprey and ubiquitous pelican. Fishermen frequent both the river and the nearby beach to bring in delights such as bream, tailor and mulloway. The trail is a circular track totalling approximately 17km which is suited both to walkers and mountain bikes and has become a valued recreational facilit
