The undercliff walk runs for 3 miles below the white chalk cliffs from Brighton Marina to Saltdean. You can walk or cycle. The path starts at the back of Asda car park on the Marina. You can walk 1.5 miles to the cafe at Ovingdean gap for an ice cream, or carry on another 3/4 mile to the village of Rottingdean (try to grab a beach view table outside the White Horse). The beach is exposed at low tide, some of which is sandy. Be careful though, because the beach disappears entirely at high tide.

This is a wonderful place to hire a bike and ride to from the property. You can alternatively catch the Volks Railway to here and walk to Rottingdean along this coastal park. You can enjoy a different stretch of seaside, look in the rockpools when the tide is out and there are lots of nice beaches where you can take a picnic too. The end point is Rottingdean and there is an ice cream stop at the half way point. I would especially recommend going here during the week when it is quieter when the weather is good. If you are missing the gym riding here and back is a great morning alternative.

Stretching out from the marina to Rottingdean and beyond, walk along the sea defences below the white cliffs and by the sea. Something very relaxing and special about this walk, but don't go during rough weather.

Get away from the mental crowds and head east from the pier. When you get to the end near the arena, go under the underpass and past the scenic Asda carpark towards the cliffs on your left. There is a path all the way to Saltdean along the beach. Some good rock pools and if you're lucky you might spot some desperate surfers trying to find a wave.
