The statue of Ly Thai To is situated in a nice garden overlooking Hoan Kiem lake (also called Sword lake). In 1010, King Ly Thai To moved the capital from Hoa Lu to Thang Long (now Hanoi). Ha Noi therefore means "Rivers Inner", so called because it is located between the Red River and Nhue River.
