About the shop The excellent property due to the inspired design of German architect Ernst Ziller, on behalf of his friend and compatriot Heinrich Schliemann, who called it "Iliou Melathron". For the passionate amateur archaeologist Schliemann was not only his home, but the place where housed vindicated his dream: to discover Troy. Today houses the Numismatic Museum, one of the most important museums of its kind in the world. The Schliemann loved his garden and spent hours on this, among pomegranate, pistachio, peach, apricot trees and grapevines. And if today is repurposed plants Attic land, in a corner of the ancient remains kokorevithia that he had planted. There beside her chose the Ministry of Culture to stage a polygonal glass pavilion that serves as coffee, since 2007. "Coffee in the garden of the Numismatic Museum" is the full name. In winter fit a few tables inside. but just open a little time, open with him and the huge shady umbrellas along the blooming flower beds, and filling the room tables.

This is an oasis that you will not notice unless you are looking for it. Right on Panepistimiou street and next to Syntagma square, step in for some shade and cold drinks in the summer f you need a break from walking in the heat.
