One of my favorites in town. King William's area. Known for its ornate 19th-century mansions, the residential King William neighborhood is also an indie arts hotspot with relaxed coffeehouses. Overlooking the San Antonio River, the Blue Star Contemporary complex includes exhibition spaces and artists’ studios in airy converted warehouses, plus eclectic restaurants, gift shops and a craft brewery. Excellent access to restaurants and the river walk. Great local bars that allow dogs such as the Friendly spot, Maverick, Rosarios, Batallion and Dough across the street on the corner of Cesar Chavez

This is the "Riverwalk" that the locals actually love to walk. Walk down King William St. to see the beautiful homes and old-growth trees, then drop down to the riverwalk at Beauregard & Washington St. Checkout the view at night from the Arsenal St Bridge. Walk the loop from Cesar Chavez to Blue Star all the way to the footbridge at the Eagleland Trailhead. If you're feeling ambitious, keep walking south to the Mission Trail.
