These caves are located about 30 minutes driving from The gymnasium (the large building with the flags in front of it at the main town crossing) . It’s located 3km east from the town “Venado”. The Venado Caves contain configurations over 6 million years old bear the beauty of waterfalls, numerous stalactites and stalagmites, and an exotic fauna like fish, insects, spiders and four different species of bats! They are open 7 days a week from 8 am till 15:00. Bring extra set of clothes, tennis shoes and a waterproof camera. Many people pointed this tour out as one of the highlights of Costa Rica. The tours is about $25 pp and includes entrance, boots, helmets, flashlights, bilingual guide, access to the swimming pool.

Located only an hour from La Fortuna, these carverns offer an unforgettable underground mystical adventures.
