Step back in time and understand the importance of the railroad to and from Savannah. It is also the location of the Visitors Center.

The railroad museum is awesome, the history behind it is amazing. There is also a Children's Museum which is more of a fun outdoor recreational area and playground but very well designed and has a lot to offer. It is all 90% outdoor fyi.

Seriously, you don't even need to be a train fanatic to enjoy the railroad museum. It's located just adjacent to the Savannah Visitor's Center and the location of the Siege of Savannah during the Revolutionary War.

Discover historic railcars at the Georgia State Railroad Museum! located in Tricentennial Park, this museum can be found at the old Central of Georgia Railway Savannah Shops and Terminal. Check out the full operational turntable, many of their historic steam or diesel trains or go on one of the guided tours! Details: The Railroad Museum is open Monday-Sunday, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is $10 per adult and $6 per child ages 2-12.
