This is a fun U.S. Forest Service Ranger Station to visit on the opposite side of Lake Quinault from the Lake Quinault Lodge. There is a great rain forest interpretive trail from the parking lot that is flat and very easy with some interesting history to it as well. The rangers love visitors on this quieter side of the lake and are always very friendly and informative. There are also some more extensive hikes in this area that are local favorites.

Located on the South Shore of Lake Quinault, Information center, National Park Ranger Station is located on the North Shore of Lake Quinault. Huge trees, dripping moss and fern beds.

Located in the southwestern area of Olympic National Park. This temperate rainforest can average 140 inches of rain each year, so bring your rain gear! Lots of great looping hiking trails with interpretive signage. Try the Quinault Rain Forest Loop Drive around beautiful Lake Quinault. It's a 31 mile loop (about 2 hours without stops) around Lake Quinault, up the Quinault River into the Olympic National Park, and back around the other side. Lots of opportunities to stop along the way to view waterfalls and wildlife, or hike. You may see Roosevelt elk, black-tail deer, cougar, bald eagle, bobcat, black bear and gorgeous views of the Olympic Mountains.
