The Pinnacles hike is a popular one amongst locals and tourists. Roughly a 3hour hike from base to summit with the option of staying over night in the Doc Hut located at the top (book before you go). The start of the walk is located in Thames (Bank St) at the Kauaeranga Visitor Centre.

Famous bush walk to a spectacular summit. You have the choice of tackling it in a day, or there are camping options so you can sleep over to extend the experience. Moderate level of fitness required. Camping spots must be booked in advance.

The Pinnacles walk starts in the Kauaeranga Valley about 40 mins from Thames. The pinnacles walk is a relatively steep track that offers spectacular views of the Coromandel peninsula. You can find remnants of the kauri logging days and some beautiful native bush and creeks. They're is also a visitor centre and a doc hut near the summit of you wish to sleep over and catch a sunrise!
