St. Simeon's Church is one of the three most important churches in Zadar. It houses the Chest of Saint Simeon which holds the relics of St Simeon the God-receiver. The Chest of Saint Simeon is considered a masterpiece of medieval art and also one of the most interesting works in gold in Europe. On Oct. 8th, the Chest is opened and the mummy of the saint is displayed for a week. To enter the church you should dress up appropriately. Free entrance.

East of Narodni trg is the church named after the most popular patron saint of Zadar. First built in the 5th century, it has undergone alterations until as recently as 1980.
