The Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Fort Worth is one of the only two Federal money printing facilities in the nation. “Visitors are able to see American money printed at the place where over half of the nation's currency is ordered. With a suspended walkway, visitors literally walk above billions of dollars. Free tours are conducted Tuesday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.”

Fascinating and Free! Beginning with a tram to the building, we enjoyed it a lot. There is a video to watch that gives good background for the tour. The tour is very efficient. It goes around the plant on the outside edge of the second floor so that you are looking down on each part. There is floor to ceiling glass on both sides of the walkway. It is self-guided, so each person has a "phone". It explains what is happening in the area you are looking down on. Then it tells you to turn it off after it tells you where to go next. This place is one of 2 in the whole nation that makes paper money. The procedure is amazing. They told lots of facts about our money & explained every step involved.
