It has hosted showcases of work by artists such as Michael Dean, who was nominated for Britain’s top art award, the Turner Prize, and Jamaican illustrator Wilfred Limonious, who created a vast amount of record-sleeve art for the dancehall music scene. It’s located right next to Camberwell College of Arts—my onetime university—in a lovely old building. The gallery has a very good cafe, with delicious cakes and cups of tea and coffee. I recommend the carrot cake!

This widely acclaimed gallery has held a host of blockbuster exhibitions from big-name artists such as Gilbert & George and Tracey Emin. The gallery is focused on contemporary art and showcases live art and film events. There's also a lovely café and restaurant, which leads down into a sweet little garden.

Free art gallery right around the corner. Often gets great exhibitions and well worth putting your head in to see what's on. Great cafe which serves fabulous and very popular brunch at the weekend. Try and get a table in the conservatory at the back from max atmosphere. There's also a secret garden if you walk out of the conservatory and to the end of the garden. You can hop out the back and it's a shortcut back to the flat.
