In the village of East Winterslow, just east of Salisbury, you can visit the New Art Centre at Roche Court, a wonderful sculpture garden – also used as an artists’ retreat – which is free to enter (charitable donation suggested). It features works by Barbara Hepworth and similar luminaries set within gorgeous countryside.

Fantastic! Sculpture inside beautifully modern spaces that sit comfortably alongside the Georgian home, and more sculpture in the grounds. I can’t believe it’s taken me 6 years to visit Roche Court. I think I enjoyed the architecture more than the sculpture this time around. Try and pick a fine day to enjoy it to the max.
