There are lots of access points to the Oakland Hills; this one offers a network of hiking trails that make you feel like you're in another world when in fact you are only minutes away (by car) from College Ave, the UC Berkeley campus, and downtown Berkeley. Getting out "into nature" can be daunting in the Bay Area because of often mind boggling freeway traffic. This trip into the hills will save you a car ride headache and get you straight into a dreamy forest bathing situation.

My fav hiking trail in the area. This is a strenuous hike, but totally worth the view. You'll see the entire Oakland/SF area from the GG bridge all the way to parts of Redwood City.

A little bit of a trip up the Oakland hills, but this preserve is great for hiking and has amazing views of the Bay Area.
