Gargrave and the Yorkshire Dales
Sightseeing
As many of our guests have said, Gargrave is perfect for visiting everything the Dales has to offer.
Known as the Gateway to the Dales with fabulous walks along the Pennine Way to Airton and Malham or along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal into Skipton or East Marton..
Leeds is only 40 mins by train, Skipton and it's castle and shops is only 5 mins. Journey north on the fabulous Settle to Carlisle railway to experience all the rugged Dales can offer.
Bolton Abbey is only 10 mins by car, with super walks either along the river or up the hills to Simon's seat.
Grassington just up the road with it's Christmas fair and more super walks to visit the lead mines is well worth a visit.
These are just some of the places nearby but we are really lucky in that there are fabulous places easily in reach by train or car for a grand day out ! The fabulous Lake District, beautiful York, Leeds, Manchester for shopping or the lights in Blackpool are less than 1.5 hours away. We even regulalry pop across to Whitby for delicious Whitby crab but that is about 2 hours away !

30 min drive. Located in the quaint village of Clapham. Very nice 1.2 mile walk, suitable for pushchairs, beside the river to a super cave system. They also have a nice cafe at the entrance to the walk.
