Nestled on a rare peninsula in Independence, Iowa, The Lake House is surrounded by all the sights and sounds of nature. Enjoy fishing, paddle boating, and swimming on the private 10-acre lake. To the West, enjoy the Wapsipinicon River. Your stay includes a paddleboat for exploring the private lake. Kayaks are available for rent. Catch-and-release fishing on the private lake means no fishing license is required.

Cozy Cottage

Our place is close to everything! NOTE- Our home will sleep two adults and two children comfortably, but NOT 4 adults. A 5-10 minute drive to just about anything in town. Newbo District and downtown are 5 min by car and 15 min on a bike. The bike path is 1/2 mile from the house and easily accessible. You will enjoy the quiet wooded location of this completely renovated "cozy" 500 Sq. Ft. one bedroom cottage. There is a fire pit and wood for a nice relaxing night, if you choose to stay in.

This beautiful lower-level private apartment is the perfect place to stay while enjoying a visit to Mount Vernon. This spacious one bedroom rental includes space for 5 guests, two queen beds and a memory foam twin roll-away bed (upon request). To top it all off breakfast items will be provided to start your day off on the right foot before you set out to explore Cornell's Campus or Historic Uptown.

Very private, secluded and relaxing spot within 30 yards of walking or biking trail. Enjoy wildlife, plenty of deer and eagles to watch off the large open front porch. Fire pits for each cabin with firewood provided. Grill provided in front yard. Two private bedrooms with a queen bed in each. Kitchen included microwave, 2-burner stove and full size refrigerator. Coffee make and toaster also provided. River for canoeing and kayaking within walking distance.
