Manwood Lodge Self-Catering

Our self-catering thatched guest lodge in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, is famous for it's stunning views of the Drakensberg mountains, the Kamberg & the Mooi River which our guests have access to at the property. This is a nature-lovers' paradise where guests can enjoy bird-watching, fly-fishing and one might even spot some buck which frequent our property. We are known for our hospitality and love welcoming visitors to the beautiful Midlands Meander. We have solar however cooker is not powered.

Rose Mountain Cottage

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway nestled high up the mountain of Mt West, yet on the doorstep of the bustling village of Nottingham Road! An extra length King bed and the best quality linen for optimal comfort. We are completely off the grid with our own fresh spring water, solar power and a hot gas shower, have a break from load shedding! Enjoy panoramic views of the Drakensberg mountains and a cosy wood fire with a good bottle of red, all the makings of a fabulous getaway!

Idyllic, private, unique and organic getaway

The Cobb Lodge, built using local organic materials as a place of tranquility & reflection, is on our 2000 Ha Sherwood farm that has been in our family since the 1850s. It's a wonderful safe place where guests are invited to walk, run or cycle the many paths, bathe in the sparkling Karkloof river and tributory streams, or simply re-energise in the clean air and soak up the African sun on a working farm. The lodge is so secluded and ideal for romantic getaways, families and naturists, enjoy!

Vista Road Farm Cottage

Relax with the whole family on this working farm nestled in the bends of the Mooi River. Experience the peace of the meandering Mooi River, nature, livestock and overlook the quiet bustle of an active farmyard. Unfortunately due to ongoing biosecurity measures access to the dairy and cattle areas will not be allowed. The cottage is self catering, and close to Mooi River town for supplies or takeaways. There is 4km of rough dirt road to access the farm (high clearance vehicles recommended)

The Igloo Cottage

Thatched country cottage situated in the Rosetta area (halfway between Nottingham Road and Mooi River). The carpeted cottage (close to our home) with a private entrance, consists of: - a bedroom (double-bed), - lounge, workstation, lounge chairs and sleeper-couch, - kitchenette and - shower area. Private courtyard with a patio table and chairs. Situated on a small holding with the Mooi river 250m from the cottage. Guests will be able to paddle on, walk or rest at the river.

Rainbows End Country Escape- Bushbuck Cottage

Our 20-hectare farm provides the peaceful surroundings needed to truly unwind. With forest walks, fully stocked trout dams, and supplied firewood for those chilly winter nights, there is something for everyone. Bushbuck cottage has a queen bed and 2 single beds, and suitable for 4 guests. However, another mattress can be put down for kids. The farm is situated 30 minutes outside of Howick, on the midlands meander. High clearance vehicles recommended on our farm roads.

The Loop Farmhouse Mooi River

Enjoy a farm stay on a working beef and horse stud farm. Surrounded by the Mooi River, this farm is a perfect place for families and friends to gather. Enjoy the farm's fresh air, unlimited walks, cycling, horse riding for little people on our two miniature ponies, cattle herding, swimming & fishing in the river, bird watching, and more. It is a perfect place to reconnect with the whole family in this peaceful setting with breathtaking scenery and views.

Little Brick Cottage

Situated on a working farm on the outskirts of Mooi River, this quaint, rustic cottage has a bedroom with a very comfortable double bed and en suite shower with toilet. It has a kitchenette and combined living room. The kitchenette contains a fridge, 2 plate gas cooker top and microwave. The cosy living area has a dinky little wood stove that warms the place beautifully on cold nights. It also has a small enclosed garden with a portable braai.

Perfect for couples or solo retreats needing space to breathe. Guests can also book a unique horse connection experience, learning gentle horsemanship and spending time with the farm’s horses. This may include groundwork and a peaceful walk on horseback.
