The Royal Scott Double Decker Bus

Our tiny home started life as a commuter bus in Manchester, England, in 1953, then did stints in San Francisco and Mt. St. Helens before finding a home as the Grilled Cheese Grill in Portland. Now it’s been reimagined as a mid century modern-inspired tiny home, with whimsical painting details from one of its former lives and fresh new handmade details that make it a cozy, inspiring stay. Newly constructed basement studio with private entry in 100+ year old NE Portland home in park-like setting. Trendy Beaumont Village neighborhood, walking distance to restaurants and shops, 90 minutes to the coast, one hour to skiing on Mt. Hood. Triple lot, gardens, swimming pool, and patio with BBQ. Non-smoking household. If you are into cold plunging, use our pool during the cooler months for this experience!

We are located on a bike route and about a 12-minute walk to NE Fremont Street (many restaurants, coffee shops, bars), 12 min by car to the airport, and 15 min to downtown. A mini house in the Rose City Park neighborhood of the City of Roses that will make you feel right at home. Casa Chica is full of natural light, and a short walk away from Portland-caliber coffee, a local brewery, wood-fired pizza, a neighborhood wine shop, two beautiful parks, groceries, and the best Vietnamese food in Portland (in our opinion).
