Arts & Culture

The gold dome is quite famous, yet a lot do not know what it is exactly. Louis XIV wanted a place where the wounded from his wars would be able to live and be taken care of. The Invalides was built and housed up to 4000 people. Now it houses the museum of the Army, AND Napoleon! After he died in Exile, his remains were finally brought back to Paris years later, and have been there ever since (although some crazy theories exist)

Do something off the beaten-track and check if there are exhibitions or concerts at the UNESCO. The architecture is out of the ordinary, and it is well hidden. I am sure most of my friends would not be able to tell you where it is without using google...

Sightseeing

So, I'm not going to explain what the Eiffel Tower is! Just a tip: there is a post office inside, if you want to send postcards, they will be stamped as "sent from the Eiffel Tower". How cool is that?

Drinks & Nightlife

Where do I go on a sunny evening? I usually end up there. Non-expensive bar on a boat on the Seine River, a bottle of rosé, adn chatting with my friends for hours. The spot is gorgeous: the Invalides, the Alexandre II Bridge (the most beautiful of the city), and the Grand Palais (a bit like the long-disappeared Crystal Palace in London) in the distance... The place is very popular among Parisians (you can dance to the oldies music at night), so it might be over crowded. In that case, just buy the drinks, and sit on the banks of the river. This is such a Parisian thing to do!

Food Scene

Good French restaurant. It is not that cheap but perfect for an affordable "special" dinner.
