Eddie's opened only a few months ago and has become a big favourite with the locals. The crew there are epic and the meals they serve up are real quality grub! With the recent addition of live music, it's my top recommendation for a great night out in Cooly. Come for dinner and stay for drinks to fully experience the vibes and make friends with the locals.

Little Mali is one of my favourite local coffee shops. On the other side of Cooly to my apartment, it makes for the perfect pit stop on a walk down to Dbah or Rainbow Bay. As well as a great coffee, Little Mali also serves up a great range of takeaway treats and lunch options.

Miami Marketta is about half an hour from Coolangatta, but I think it's definitely worth the trip! A few days a week, this old warehouse turns into one of the Gold Coast's best collections of street food stalls. Come for the food and stay for the live music! The Marketta has buckets full of good vibes to go round!

Beach Burrito swaggered into Cooly a few months ago and has been serving up the best burritos in town ever since. I think I went there every week for two months when they first opened! Great location and a really good feed for a reasonable price. If you're feeling festive, I also recommend splashing out on some cocktails.

Boardriders is a cafe by day and one of Cooly's best live music venues by night. I personally prefer it for it's night scene, but I hear they knock up a great brunch. On Friday and Saturday nights, Boardriders has some of the East Coast's best live music talent on show with multiple gigs each week. A perfect place to knock back a Pacific Ale after a long day at the beach!

Tupe is a Mexican restaurant and bar with wonderful kitsch decor that will have you feeling very much on holidays. With views of the ocean and an incredibly fun crew behind the bar, you're bound to have a good time.

Justin Lane is probably my favourite swanky restaurant/bar on the coast. You'll be impressed by their swish decor and even more so by their delicious pizzas and tapas. When the sun is out, head there early to grab a table on their epic roof top terrace bar!

The modern resort attracts travellers from all over the world and their slick public bar is where their guests can mingle with the locals in poolside style. The vibe here is pretty young, but with fun staff and great Sunday sesh deals on food and drinks, it's always a good night out.

Although it does get really busy in summer, the beautiful beaches and lighthouse are tourist attractions for a reason! Whether you head down to check out the artisan or food markets, to catch a gig at The Northern or just to spend the day at the beach, Byron has something for everyone and will definitely not disappoint!

Incase you hadn't noticed, we have a beach here! Well, a few actually. You can see Coolangatta beach from my apartment and it's only a short walk away. There is a whole coastline of beaches to chose from so you won't have any trouble finding somewhere to spread your towel. The path that stretches alongside the beach, continuously from Tugun down through Coolangatta and into Tweed Heads (across the boarder) is as much of an attraction as the beach.

The path that stretches alongside the beach, continuously from Tugun down through Coolangatta and into Tweed Heads (across the boarder) is as much of an attraction as the beach.
