A 7 minute BART ride from my West Oakland Station, the marketplace is wonderful. On Saturdays, it's a not-to-be-missed treat of wonderful farmers' market heaven! Great shops inside the Ferry Building!

My favorite hiking and THE best view of the bay/SF in the entire area (as reward for a steep, short climb). Trail-head is a 10 min drive from my house (Hwy 24 to Claremont Ave. Then park on Stonewall.
