Our favourite place to go in London. Its a 10-15 min walk down the river past Big Ben. Make sure to walk past the touristy County Hall and London Eye (don't stop!) until you get to Royal Festival Hall, the Beach and more. You can keep walking down to the Tate and London Bridge, there is always something going on and a number of markets.

A great secret place is the 5th floor in the Royal Fesitval Hall that has an open balcony over looking the Thames where you can take your own lunch and get away from the hustle and bustle.
Our kids (and I) love riding the singing glass lift to the story book corner where you can just escape and chill.
There is always a public performance or band on in the Clore ballroom which you can drop by as you please and the food market from Thursday to Sundays out the back means there is always something good to eat.
