Best ice cream in San Francisco in my opinion! You have to try the Secret Breakfast (it's legendary) and the rest of their flavors are equally as inventive, if not more so. There's one in the Mission on 24th and Harrison.

The holy trinity of San Francisco burritos (La Taqueria, El Farolito and Taqueria Cancun) are incredible and are regulars in my rotation, however El Castillito is just down the street and is delicious in its own right. Excellent carne asada, huge serving sizes, cheap prices (cash only).

Brand new and right around the corner, this place makes mean Hawaiian food. If you're at all into sushi/poke, you'll dig going here for lunch.

This one's a Mission staple. Outdoor beer garden, tons of German beers on tap, rude metalhead waitstaff, Zeitgeist has it all. The food isn't too bad either.

Excellent cocktail bar, just around the corner on 16th street. Lots of unique drinks here and the food (mostly appetizers) is delicious.

One of my favorite venues in S.F. They have a good mix between local music and nationally touring acts. Great sound, nice space, excellent area for going out to dinner/drinks before or after.

Excellent small to mid-size venue with local acts and touring bands. Popscene on Thursday nights is especially cool--up and coming indie bands play along with openers and DJs. The whole thing is interspersed with incredible 80's videos. What could be better?

The best music venue in the City in my opinion and one of my favorites ever. Excellent booking, impeccable sound, nice stage setup, great location. I highly recommend checking out a show at the Independent while you're in town.

Sightseeing
I don't take part in a whole lot of touristy stuff in San Francisco, but this is one that's well worth it. Tons of interesting history, great views of the whole Bay Area and a nice boat ride too.
