Sushi?! In Wyoming?!?!? Believe it or not, yeah. Like most mid-range sushi joints, Shiki uses flash-frozen fish for most of its selections, so you don't have to worry about not getting "fresh" fish in the middle of the Rockies. Service can be so-so, but the food is always good, and it's a rare healthy option amidst the sea of meat and potatoes in Cody. Plenty of traditional Japanese (non-sushi) options, too.

A family-run restaurant that was formerly a house of ill repute, Cassie's serves great steaks and features live music most summer nights. It's an authentic Western honky-tonk where you can dance and drink till late. Surprisingly, it also features the best Sunday brunch in town. Try the chicken and waffles!

Arts & Culture

The Buffalo Bill Center of the West has been called the "Smithsonian of the West," and that's no exaggeration. It's a world-class facility with five museums under one roof: Western art, firearms, Plains Indians, natural history and the life of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. Plan on 2-6 hours, depending on how deep you want to dive into this amazing place.
