Well, we call it Derry ;-) 10mins by car from our place. Ireland's only fully walled city, nestled on both sides of the great Foyle river. Easy to get around in on foot, good shopping ( £ & € accepted). Free live music in for all tastes in many pubs. AND: world famous for it's Halloween festival !

Quaint little beach holdiday hotspot, just the right kind of busy in the summer but worth a visit any time of year. Arts& Crafts and good food. Scenic drive to there from our place

Dramatic cliffs and stunning empty beaches/ coves. From our place, you can reach any point of the Donegal Wild Atlantic Way within 1 - 2 hrs drive and the drive itself is often scenic, too. Buncrana (30mins), Dunfanaghy (60mins) , Malin Head (60 mins), Fanad Head (40mins), Stroove Lighthouse (40mins), Portsalon (Ballymastocker) Beach (60mins), Bunbeg Beach & Adara Beach (each about 90mins), to name but a few

the Fanad Head drive is a must; the round trip from & back to our place is a nice & easy day excursion on which you will enjoy some of the most stunning coastline scenery. The round trip drive itself will take about 2.5 hours but you will want to stop in Ramelton (Conway's Pub) and Ballymastocker (Portsalon) Beach, so don't make any other route plans for the rest of the day :-)

There is a Farmers Market on Port Street every Saturday 9h-13h where you can avail of fresh local produce (meet, fish, fruit&veg, artisan bakery products). Fishmonger stall outside Dunne's Store car park every Friday & Saturday with catch-of the day from Killybegs Harbour.
