There is a great new area at Whitfords Shopping Centre with a Cinema and a number of restaurants, brewery and an outdoor area in the centre that kids love to play at - you can take the bus - it's only two stops - about 3 minutes to get there. Great for an easy close-by night out.

Parks & Nature
Just a couple of minutes from the house you will find a nature reserve - walk to the end of Unicorn Place and enter through the gates - you can walk left or right , in either direction there is a set of stairs that leads down into the reserve. Enter through the gates at the bottom of the stairs into the nature reserve or walk / run all around it. Another option is to turn left when you pass through the gates at Unicorn Place and keep walking along the path for about 1km until you reach Warrandyte Park - a great big park with playground and a 1km loop around.

The buses on Whitfords Avenue take you straight to Whitfords Train station and the bus ride is free with your train ticket. You can get a re-chargeable smartrider card or buy individual tickets, kids under 5 are free of charge, there is also a family day ticket that is great value for money.
